Think of classic combinations.
Peanut butter and jelly.
Oreos and milk.
Simon and Garfunkel.
Allow me to add another to the list: amateur drifters and go kart tracks.
After receiving an invitation to attend a private drifting day hosted by a friend, I quickly set about planning a full day of photography coverage at The Grand Motor Circuit in Apple, Valley California.
Knowing essentially nothing about drifting and even less about how to document, I found myself with free range of a tightly laid out go kart track amidst sliding drift missiles. By the end of the day, I myself became a source of entertainment. Six and half feet of limbs hanging from a sliding NA Miata, while attempting to hold a DSLR, will give people the impression you're new to this whole "event coverage" gig.
